Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. They can also visit the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.
About Amboseli Sopa Lodge
Set in 200 acres of private land, and with a rustic charm all of its own, the lodge nestles in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro which, at almost six thousand metres, is Africa’s highest and most famous snowcapped mountain. It was this region of Kenya that, in the 1930’s, inspired Ernest Hemingway’s unforgettable stories ‘The Snows of Kilimanjaro’ and ‘The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber’ which were turned into more than successful feature films in the late 1940’s due to their renowned actors. All forms of wildlife still abound in this wilderness which continues all the way to the Amboseli National Park, an easy twenty minute drive away from the lodge.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli
6:30 AM: Our tour driver will pick you from your Nairobi hotel and depart for the Masai Mara
1:00 PM: Arrival at the camp/lodge for check in and relaxation. You will thereafter head out for an afternoon game drive and return to the camp lodge in time for dinner.
6:00 PM: Return to the camp for dinner and thereafter rest for the night

Day 2 - Amboseli National Park Full Day Game Drive
8:00 AM: Have breakfast
8:30 AM: Depart for a full day game drive at Amboseli National Park where your expert tour guide will be guiding you on a memorable game drive. You will have a chance to see all or some of the African Big Five (Lion, Buffallo, Rhino, Elephant & Rhino) as well as other mammals like the giraffe, wildebeest, cheetah, birds, impala, gazelles, spotted hyenas, hippos among many others.
1:00 PM: Our guide will drive to a safe area within the Amboseli National Park where you will have a picnic lunch - meat, sandwich, fruits and fruit juice before continuing with the afternoon game drive.
5:30 PM: Return to the camp for dinner and night sleep. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3: Amboseli to Nairobi
8:00 AM: You will have breakfast as you prepare to return to Nairobi.
9:30 AM: Check out and commence your journey back to Nairobi with an enroute game drive (you won't enter the park)
12:30 PM: A brief stop along the way where you will have a complimentary lunch 2:00 PM: Our tour driver will drop you off at your Nairobi hotel or take you directly to the airport to catch your onward flight home.
